Tip of the Week
Model A Fan
It is fairly well known that the original Model A fan is prone to cracking due to vibration and rust. This can lead to catastrophic results with the fan blade exiting the engine compartment through the hood or worse. Imagine working under the hood while the engine is running should this happen!
Replacement fans (and pulleys) are available in several styles from Model A suppliers: 2-bladed stamped metal, 4-bladed stamped metal, plastic and original-looking cast aluminum.
I have had two instances of failing fan blades and now have installed the cast aluminum type.
